If you’re wondering why Gareth has earned the title of resident do-gooder, that’s because he joined the GRIN team post a 6 months charity visit to East Africa. Here’s a bit more about our latest recruit…
1. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
2. WHERE IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Simon’s Town in South Africa. It was a long way to go to be disappointed you can’t swim in the sea because of sharks but worth it to see the penguins.
3. FAVORITE FOOD?
Lasagne. Even better when it’s leftovers and in a sandwich.
4. SUMMER OR WINTER?
Summer, especially when it’s a proper summer and hot enough for shorts.
5. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING?
I’ve been reading a lot of Alan Moore comics recently but at the same time I’m reading ‘Queuing for Beginners’ by Joe Moran. It’s a social/cultural history of everyday life in post-war Britain. It’s more interesting than it sounds.
6. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SOUND?
The sound of Jango Fett detonating seismic charges in Attack of the Clones.
7. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 FILMS?
The Godfather: Part II
Ghost in the Shell
Honourable Mention: Predator, Commando, Total Recall, Raw Deal and The Terminator
8. DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL TALENTS?
The ability to link a Simpsons reference into any situation.
9. IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND WHAT 3 THINGS WOULD YOU TAKE?
I’ve recently returned from 5 months living in a mud hut in East Africa so I’m aware I’d need: my wife, a head torch and a Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier.
10. COMPLETE THE SENTENCE: I’M HAPPIEST WHEN…
I’m swimming in the Indian Ocean.
