We’re a talented bunch and we love what we do – producing imaginative work that puts a big fat GRIN on our clients’ faces. We’ll get to know your brand like the back of our hand and come up with fresh and inspiring ideas that get people talking.
We bring ideas to life through creative marketing campaigns and exciting design solutions that make your message memorable. This can be through marketing, advertising, branding, digital, motion, print…you name it.
While we could bang on about all the different things we do, that’s not important. What IS important is that we produce work that does the business for you. So pop in for a cuppa and let’s have a chat about your needs – we’re all ears. By listening to you and really understanding your organisation, we create campaigns that’ll make your brand stand out in an ever-more crowded marketplace.
To answer that, it’s probably best for us to shut up for a moment and let our clients like Centaur, Birmingham Museums Trust and Admiral Taverns do the talking. Take a peek at our testimonials section to see what they’ve got to say.
In a nutshell, we enjoy what we do and our clients stay with us because they like working with us – and they appreciate our refreshingly honest approach. We don’t wrap things up in jargon or waffle. We just say it like it is.
But on a serious note, we know that at the end of the day it’s all about results. While we do get excited about the creative stuff, it means nothing unless it helps you to achieve your goals. And that’s our focus. Because when you grow, we grow too.
Meet the wonderfully talented team at GRIN
As the original GRIN-Father, Phil is our ideas man, if you will. With 20+ years of agency experience behind him, Phil has the knack of sniffing out those golden opportunities and initiates those important client relationships. As the team grows, we’re gradually diminishing the number of Phil’s Quark files, but we’re still working on his unexplained addiction to The Simpsons’ iPhone game, Tapped Out.
Sarah is the leader of the pack who creates and drives an energised and motivated team culture. With her agency experience and eagle eyes that never miss a trick, she knows how to get the best out of the studio and always has the clients’ goals in mind. With exceptionally high standards in all areas of the business, including with how she likes her tea, Sarah can be found with her head in the latest dystopian fiction.
Dan is our resident motion graphics guru. He loves to experiment with media and you can often find him geeking out in front of his PC (a crime in our Apple-loving office). Dan’s got over six years experience working with major private sector clients. He combines an eye for detail with an obsession with hyphens – and is the office website agony aunt.
Our resident do-gooder, Gareth joined the GRIN team after a six-month charity stint in East Africa. Before digging boreholes, Gareth was designing for team Cadbury, with side projects including photography zines and a Brummie-loving website. Gareth is also a keen West Brom fan (this doesn’t affect his design ability) with a Simpsons reference for every occasion.
With a fetish for fonts, Designer Jules has a background in both print and digital across public and private sectors. When she’s not working, our Jules loves nothing more than to geek out to the latest TV series, dabble in a spot of decorating or baking, probably something with peanut butter.

With a passion for problems Scott dives head first into dilemmas which other people would compare to nightmare scenarios, all with a smile and a resounding amount of enthusiasm. Wired to read everything as a flowchart he’ll find problems you didn’t even know you had and fix them in ways you didn’t even know you could whilst being able to explain it in a personal, understandable and approachable manner, leaving yourselves asking how you ever managed before.
Ryan came on board with experience in branding, FMCG and packaging design working for clients such as Knight Frank and Poundland. His First-class Honours degree in Graphic Art & Design means he is equipped with full knowledge of the Adobe CC Suite as well as traditional printmaking. He takes a multidisciplinary approach covering all areas of print and digital, ensuring our clients receive a consistent high standard of work. Our biggest Apple geek, you’ll never catch Ryan without his MacBook Pro and a cup of tea.

With a love for all things travel and adventure, Jen returned to the UK after working overseas in both Melbourne and Wellington across a range of accounts including Thomson Reuters. Now back in sunny Birmingham, Jen has led new model year launches, developed both on and offline content and has been involved in organising international photoshoots for Jaguar Land Rover. Jen now joins the GRIN team with experience across multiple channels and disciplines… and a slightly unhealthy tea addiction! Once 5.30 hits you can generally find her hunting out local live music with mates, chilling out with a brew or planning her next trip away!
Fresh out of University, Carly joins team GRIN in a quest for knowledge and hands on experience. Carly enjoys exploring new styles and techniques to apply to her work, and has a penchant for patterns, she could doodle them all day. Away from the desk, she’s an enviable sporty type, playing netball and football, which is just as well as like the rest of team, Carly is a massive foodie.
Jon joins team GRIN on the look to grow within a creative studio and gain more industry experience. You will most likely find him scribbling ideas down, scrolling through design blogs or trying to develop a new skill. Away from the machine he is a one-man band playing piano, guitar and currently learning the drums… the neighbours love him!
Having worked both in-house and agency side, Kim brings her experience in websites and online marketing to the team and is currently studying a Prince2 project management course, which she hopes to complete by the end of this year. When she’s not juggling her studies and work, she enjoys trying weird and wonderful classes from bouldering to aerial yoga. Kim also loves a Pub Quiz and a good Netflix marathon!
