The last year in sketches…

…Well, some of it anyway.

I’d love to go on about it nearly being Christmas. John Lewis have caused many to shed a tear, and Sainsbury’s have managed to make me chuckle on the train with Mog crashing around the kitchen. It reminded me of childhood weekends spent watching Tom & Jerry – very much my sense of humour! Also, the Christmas market has come to Birmingham. BUT. Even that’s probably too much already, so we’ll leave it there.

Can you believe I’ve been here just over a year already? I’ve had the pleasure of illustrating many campaigns here, so I’ve decided to take a look back at some sketches from the last year here at GRIN. These days we tend to think everything starts it’s life on a Mac screen, however, I’m all for getting a pencil or sharpie out and starting with the basics. I love illustration, and it always helps me to look ahead in terms of how final artwork might look.

So here’s an illustration style for a family…

So, get sketching! And if you don’t have an excuse, perhaps doodle during meetings! Earlier this week I was reading how it increases productivity…
